Milna - Blaca

Island Brac is part of Dalmatia or Southern Croatia, which is rich in historical and cultural heritage as well as in beauty spots. During the tourist season the trips to Split, Dubrovnik, Makarska, Brela, Hvar and other destinations and Milna surroundings are organized every day.

Milna - church

All around and very near Milna there are numerous scenic places, which can be reached by car or by foot. South of Milna there is a small harbour by name Osibova, with old Romanesque church of St. Joseph. Also in the vicinity is spacious bay Lučica, with numerous small coves. Above Milna is the church of St. Martin, on the hill from which there is a splendid view of spread-out islands on the blue sea, speckled with white dots of sails of cruising yachts. Of course, lots of natural beaches are all around Milna, and in small coves in Milna itself. Also, the islet Mrdulja with the ruins of a small church is well worth visiting.

Milna - palace

It is impossible to get to know Brac if we do not visit Blaca. Blaca desert is one of the most beautiful resorts on the island od Brac. By car it is possible to reach Dragovode village and from that deserted village down to Blaca desert there is a steep path. Till Blaca one has to walk almost half an hour. What once used to be Blaca monastery is situated beneath the high steep cliff. In it the important values, many books, little printing firm and the old observatory with telescopes are situated. The monastery had the proper school as well as the church devoted to Mary's Assumption built in 1588.

Vidova Gora (Sutvid Sanctus Vitus) with its height of 778 m is the highest top of the island of Brac and also the highest top among the Adriatic islands. From the top of Vidova Gora there is a beautiful view on all sides of Brac and to the well-indented coast of the neighbouring island Hvar. On the top of Vidova Gora there is a typical Dalmatian ''konoba'' (wine-cellar). The territory of Vidova Gora plateau is the world of silence and pure nature with fresh high air and unique park-woods of the Dalmatian black pine and in 1970 it was nominated as ''the important scenery''.
